Elizabeth Blanco
Painter of nature, florals, wildlife and landscapes — and a decorator who understands how art transforms a home.
“I paint primarily in watercolour, but I love the freedom of acrylics and ink. Every piece is an original — a moment of nature held still.”
Elizabeth has painted since childhood. Her subjects are drawn from the natural world — flowers, landscapes, animals and the quiet Australian bush. She also works with plaster to create textured, three-dimensional acrylic paintings.
She lives in Canberra with her Spanish husband; they have a son and a daughter. Her work has been shown at numerous exhibitions and lives in homes across Australia and beyond.
An artist who thinks like an interior designer
With a Diploma in Interior Decoration and years of design experience, Elizabeth considers how a painting will actually live in a space — its scale against a wall, its palette beside the furnishings, the light it will sit in throughout the day.
It is why collectors and designers return to her: the work is not only beautiful, it belongs.
A path shaped by paint
Childhood
Began painting as a child, drawn first to watercolour's light and unpredictability.
Training
Earned a Diploma in Interior Decoration, learning how art and space shape one another.
Exhibitions
Displayed and sold works across numerous exhibitions, building a community of collectors.
Today
Paints from her Canberra studio, creating original works and bespoke commissions.
A slow, considered practice
Each work begins with observation — light, form and feeling. Watercolour rewards patience and courage; acrylic and plaster invite texture and depth. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is reproduced.
Values
Originality
Every painting is a one-of-a-kind original — never a print or reproduction.
Craftsmanship
Archival materials and considered technique so each work endures for generations.
Space-Led Thinking
An interior decorator's eye for scale, palette and placement in real rooms.
Human Connection
A personal, unhurried relationship with every collector and commission.
